The Panthers opened Thursday out-hitting the Sandies nine to five, but it was Amarillo coming out on top of a 13-7 decision. The Sandies jumped out to an early 8-1 lead. Permian was able to add three runs in the third inning and another three in the sixth, but was unable to make up the deficit as Amarillo added another five of their own.

In the afternoon game, Caden Clinton pitched a shutout in a 9-0 blanking of Plainview. After plating a run in the bottom of the second inning, Permian racked up four runs in the third. The Panthers filled the bases on a pair of walks and hit batter. A sacrifice fly by Jordan Muschalek scored Ethan Valencia. Bradley Mitchell singled to centerfield to reload the bases. Brian Ramirez was able to cross the plate on a Clinton ground out. A two-run RBI single by Brandon Benson upped the Mojo lead to 5-0.

The Panthers added a run in the fourth on a Pilar Ramirez RBI single. Two more Permian runs came on a RBI base hit by Brian Ramirez in the fifth frame. Muschalek led off the bottom of the sixth with a triple, and scored on a Clinton single to centerfield for the ninth run.  Even though committed four errors in the game, Mojo claimed the 9-0 shutout victory.

JV Black dropped both of the second day's games in the tournament. Battling to a 4-4 tie with Amarillo High in the top of the fifth inning, Permian tried to take the lead but was caught trying to steal home to end the at-bat.  After Mojo failed to score in the sixth and seventh inning, the game entered the bottom of the seventh still deadlocked.

The first Sandie grounded out to Muschalek at third base for the first out.  The next batter got on base on a single.  After a failed pick-off attempt, the Amarillo runner ended up on third base with one out.  A sacrifice flyball to centerfield allowed the runner to tag up and score in the 5-4 Permian loss.

JV Black faced Frenship in the finale.  The Tigers jumped out to a 4-0 lead that held until the fifth frame.  Permian scored four runs in the top of the fifth to tie, but Frenship collected five runs in the bottom half of the inning to make it a 9-4 ballgame in favor of the Tigers.  The Panthers could only manage one run in the final at-bat.  Mojo suffered the 9-5 loss to end the tourney play.

JV WHITE (4-0)
Permian picked up wins over Wylie and San Angelo Central to sweep Friday's games. The win streak continued on Saturday, with victories over Abilene High and Midland High.

JV White scored in all five innings of the first tourney game.  After Wylie got on the board with a run in the top half of the first, Permian answered with a pair of its own.  Three consecutive base hits by Justice Bustos, Teo Banks, and Cade Tschauner's two-run RBI gave Mojo a 2-0 lead.  Thanks to a fielding error, Wylie added a run in the second frame.  The Panthers answered again with a pair of runs to extend the lead to 4-2.  Three Permian runs in the fourth and another in the fifth put the game away to give Mojo the 10-2 victory.

While committing seven errors, JV White still outhit San Angelo Central 11 to 3 to claim an 8-4 victory in the afternoon game on Friday.  The Panthers took a 5-3 lead after three innings.  In the top of the fourth, Mojo added three more runs behind singles from Ashton Coats, Kendyn Armstrong, Bustos, and Javi Valenciana to make the score 8-3.  The Bobcats managed to score a run in the bottom of the fifth, with the assistance of a Permian fielding error.

Permian faced similiar opponents on Saturday in Abilene High and Midland High, beating both in convincing style.  After the Eagles opened the game with two runs, JV White busted out a nine-run response in the bottom of the first.  Armstrong scored on a Cade Clinton RBI hit.  McCray Gann's two-run RBI single gave Mojo a 3-2 lead.  Three consecutive walks loaded the base for the Panthers.  Brian Brown made the Eagles pay when he slapped a three-run RBI double down the left field line.  Brown would score before a pop out ended the opening inning.

Abilene High managed to score a run in the second and two more in the third frame.  Permian unleashed another five run assault in the bottom of the inning.  JV White collected four free trips to first, coupled with base hits from Bustos and Tschauner, to give the Panthers a 14-5 victory.

The closest ballgame came in the afternoon finale with Midland High, though the outcome was never in serious danger.  Permian took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first frame, and added three more runs in the third inning.  The Bulldogs cut into the Mojo lead with two runs in the top of the fourth.  JV White collected a run in the fifth inning, and Midland scored a run in the sixth in the 7-3 Mojo sweep.

Valenciana led PHS batters at the plate, going 5-for-9 and recording a .556 tourney average.  He had two RBI's and scored twice, including hitting a triple.  Tschauner was 4-for-6 at the plate, with five RBI's and six runs.  The Mojo pitchers turned in solid performances.  Coats struck out seven, while giving up two runs and four hits in six and two-third innings.  Gann struck out 11, giving up four runs and three hits in five innings.  Banks struck out nine, while giving up three runs and three hits in six innings.
