Criswell Named Mojo Head Baseball Coach

ODESSA - The Mojo baseball program will welcome a new head coach as Tate Criswell takes the helm in the 2017-18 season.  The Tulia and Wayland Baptist graduate will be taking over for Jimmy Webster, who served just one year at Permian.

criswellA 2001 graduate of Tulia High School, Criswell lettered in football and baseball. He would return to Tulia as the baseball head coach from 2008 to 2014.  He took over the Dumas baseball program during the 2014-16 seasons, and also was a running back coach on the football staff.

Criswell led 5A Dumas to a 17-13 season record this past season, with a 7-7 district record.  The prior season, the Demons were 17-14 (9-6 in district).  In the nine years as a baseball head coach, he has won a District championship, four Bi-District champion titles, and a state Area championship.  Under his guidance, Criswell's teams have collected 144 wins in those nine seasons.

Prior to coaching, Criswell played catcher and graduated from Wayland Baptist University in 2006.  He has a wife, Sarah, and they have been married for seven years.
